Abstract

The objective of the work is to analyze the impact of COVID-19 on the labor situation during the quarantine in Paraguay, 2020. It was based on the quantitative, non-experimental, transectional and descriptive design. The population was 2,722,668 inhabitants whose sample size was 384 participants and, of which a response rate of 72% was obtained (277 respondents). The inclusion criteria were: people of working age who are located in Asunción and Greater Asunción. The data collection was through a survey using an 11-question questionnaire, sent via social networks for convenience in October 2020. The most relevant results were: 31% of the respondents had reduced hours in the workplace. work while only 14% were fired, 20% of the participants did not have to resort to any type of resources to solve themselves during the quarantine while 24% turned to family support and 23% to savings. It was concluded that the service sector was the most affected during the health crisis and the appearance of the existence of a savings culture in Paraguay for contingency cases.
