The purpose of this research was to know the business model, the value chain and the impact generated by a non-traditional Paraguayan company in the creative economy category, for which the Orquesta de Instrumentos Reciclados de Cateura was selected, a musical organization that make up children and young people, mostly from homes at risk of social exclusion, who carry art with their instruments built with environmental waste obtained from the Cateura landfill in their community, from which the music of their presentations emanates. The applied work method was descriptive and exploratory and applied a qualitative design with interviews and semi-structured questionnaires.

The investigation found that the Cateura Recycled Instrument Orchestra is mainly promoted in social network markets and complements the income it generates in its performances with donations, which finances the operation of the School of Music, which is free, infrastructure, improvements in the community, social houses for the families of its members, as well as managing free services for its members and the community. The analysis of the value chain identified that the financial margin is "zero" or "null" as it is a non-profit organization, and there is a "social" margin: (i) internally the personal improvement that its own "actors" are developing. of the orchestra during the process of creating value within the organization and (ii) externally sending a clear message of second chances for people at risk of social exclusion and for environmental waste.
