MAMANI-CHOQUE, E. E.; LARICO-FLORES, J. B.; MENDOZA-CHOQUE, Z. J.  y  CALATAYUD-MENDOZA, A. P.. Returns of education in the labor market of dependent and independent workers by educational level and place of residence in Peru, 2010-2018. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2020, vol.7, n.1, pp.12-22. ISSN 2409-8752.  https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2020.007.01.012-022.

The research was based on the theory of investment in education as an investment in human capital in education, which aims to estimate the rate of return to education of dependent and independent workers in the labor market in the years 2010 - 2018, so the variables of analysis are educational level, place of residence and sex; where the Mincer equation was used in the estimates, as well as the Ordinary Minimum Squares (OLS) method, where the results show that the returns of workers with incomplete primary and secondary education are low, with a teacher and/or doctorate degree are higher, and in 2018 the ladies obtain 14.44%, men 14.12%, with rural residence 11.57% and 10.47% from the urban sector, that is, independent workers have higher returns than dependent workers. On the other hand, returns to education over time are growing, with better returns for those with a higher degree of university education; consequently, income increases for each additional year of study, generating greater insertion into the labor market for having a high level of training.

Palabras clave : Human capital; income level; return to education.
