This article analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of the implementation of higher education in a blended modality through the use of ICT and the Internet. The methodological design applied has been non-experimental, of explanatory-correlational scope with a mixed approach. The units of analysis contemplated have been the students of the semipresencial modality of the Polytechnic, Chemical Sciences, and Exact Sciences Faculties of the National University of Asunción. The significance of the modality has been accessibility, proving that this model helps to innovate the learning of non-traditional educational paradigms. As advantageous aspects of this culture of systematic and technological training, it is highlighted as a mediating resource, with great educational potential. The use of technology allows the enrichment of educational quality. The analysis of the data has allowed to conclude that the modality makes possible the enrichment of the curricular contents and propitiates the significant learning, contributing to the quality of the education.

Palabras clave : blended modality; meaningful student learning; higher education; ICT.
