Abstract

ARIAS-CHAVEZ, D et al. Bibliometric analysis of Latin American scientific production on juvenile delinquency. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2019, vol.6, n.2, pp.67-74. ISSN 2409-8752.  https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2019.006.02.067-074.

This paper aims to describe, through bibliometric indicators, Latin American scientific production related to juvenile delinquency during the period 2009-2018. To this end, a descriptive-retrospective bibliometric study was carried out on the entire Latin American scientific production on juvenile delinquency in those periods. Taking as a basis data from the Google Scholar, we calculated the indicators, scientometric through the software Harzing's Publish or Perish v. 6, filtering 159 items. From the analysis carried out, it is observed that, of a total of 171 citations, there are 17.1; 1.08 and 134.45 citations per year, citations by articles and citations by authors respectively. The publications have an H-index of 6 and a G-index of 8. Highlights the annual production of 2013, with 25 publications. Most authors work individually. A total of 256 authors were included in the 159 articles, generating a collaboration index of 1.61. These results indicate that scientific production related to juvenile delinquency in Latin America has not been influential in the last 10 years. Scientometric indicators show a downward trend and production is not prominent.
