Resumen

MARIN MAMANI, G et al. Spectral signatures in the calculation of carbon dioxide absorption by Eucalyptus Globolus case Moho, Puno. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2019, vol.6, n.2, pp.6-10. ISSN 2409-8752.  https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2019.006.02.006-010.

The use of Geographic Information Systems has meant a notable advance in the studies of the physical environment, due to the advantage of handling a large volume of information. The objective of this article was to quantify the CO2 absorption capacity in tons for urban planning of the Moho landscape. The applied methodology uses the analysis of satellite images (raster) through the supervised classification of spectral signatures, which allow to establish the density and concentration of eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globolus) existing in the Calvary zone of Moho - Puno. The results established that the eucalyptus captures 7 468.64 tons of CO2 per hectare per year (tCO2/ha/year) in the study area. However, the levels of absorption of one species may vary in function of other varieties of non-tree species.

Palabras clave : spectral signatures; CO2; eucalyptus; landscape.
