The present study describes the relationship of Paraguayan universities with society and their influence on social change. The mission of higher education should be the contribution to the equitable development of society, with quality and equity. And it is the responsibility of the university all social change in a country, and also contribute to social transformation. The results of a theoretical review of the different contemporary authors on this subject centered on the Paraguayan reality are presented.
