FARIAS, J  y  WOLLMEISTER, R. Research on Competencies of Applicants or Candidates to Occupy Positions within Private Companies. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2017, vol.4, n.2, pp.46-62. ISSN 2409-8752.  https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2017.004(02)046-062.

Companies become impatient for the time it takes to find "the right man or woman for the job," for the simple reason that screening candidates, to say, is slow, because many applicants present themselves to find a job, but there are very few that cover the mandatory requirements to occupy a charge or position, in its two aspects: training, knowledge and behavioral factors; knowing that the global trend now is to value more the behavioral than the Knowledge per se.

Considering this situation, we intend to investigate the psychological and social aspects of the profile of competencies of postulants to charges within the Companies of the great Asunción area and if these correspond themselves to their same expectations.

For this descriptive research, the emotional intelligence of Daniel Goleman (2013 and 2015) was taken as the theoretical basis. This takes into account the Personal Aptitude, Social Aptitude and Social Skills, which are broken down into: Self-consciousness or Self-knowledge, Self-regulation, Motivation, Empathy. These in turn, are divided into a series of variables.

The companies surveyed were 50, divided into different items such as services, commercial, industrial and financial; bringing together more candidates, companies from the areas of service and commercial.

According to the obtained results it is observed that the Emotional intelligence and its components, obtain the highest percentage of 67%. Being 17% the productivity and the results. The intellectual aspects 8% and the Knowledge also 8%, these being also, easier to be developed.

According to the results obtained it is observed that the Emotional Intelligence and its components, acheive the highest percentage of 67%. Being 17% the Productivity and the Results. The Intellectual aspects 8% and the Knowledge 8% as well, these being also, easier to be developed.

If they are broken down into the variables of Emotional Intelligence, together with General Intelligence and Knowledge, it is observed that the emphasis is on the Social Skills that these companies demand (20%), followed by Personal Aptitude (19%) and Productivity and Search of Results, third (17%).

Financial companies are the ones that most emphasize Emotional Intelligence in the context of their corporate profiles (85%), simply because they seek emotional maturity, trustworthiness, honesty and good relationship with external and internal clients. They are followed by Commercial and Service companies (66 and 67%). It is considered that these companies have a lot of relationship with external customers; in that context the spirit of service and after-sales service is essential. Last, industrial companies in which this priority of emotional character is shared with results, productivity and cognitive aspects.

The results obtained could strengthen the Training Programs of Companies, as well as their inclusion in the themes of the Corporate Universities that are developed within the Companies. Another important point will be the inclusion of these aspects in secondary and university education.
