ANDINO, C. Ethics of minimum and democratic plurality. Current contributions of ethics civil Adela Cortina. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2017, vol.4, n.1, pp.67-79. ISSN 2409-8752. https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2017.004(01)067-079.
From the distinction between the minima of justice and the maximum of happiness, this article proposes an approximation to the theoretical formulation of the civil ethics of the contemporary Spanish philosopher Adela Cortina. In times when relativism and moral utilitarianism dominate interpersonal relations, the ethics of minima is exclusively concerned with those universal phenomena that are universal, that is, demandable of every rational subject. An approach to civil ethics invites us to recover the best of enlightened modernity to rationally base ethics as a key to building a democratic and plural society in which all people without exclusion are recognized as subjects of law and valid interlocutors.
