Abstract
FLORES ESCOBAR, F.L.. Spirituality in education, separated from religiosity. Rev. ciente. UCSA [online]. 2017, vol.4, n.1, pp.57-66. ISSN 2409-8752. https://doi.org/10.18004/ucsa/2409-8752/2017.004(01)057-066.
The objective was to analyze the relationship between spirituality and education, separate from religiosity. These terms are often confused as synonyms, and therefore requires a precise conceptualization. This study had a qualitative approach, as it describes the findings, through the method of documentary analysis, of bibliographic review. The difference found is that spirituality is more intrinsic, personal, original and affective, while religiosity is more extrinsic, shared, formal and procedural; the similarity lies in that they are independent of each other, and that both seek transcendence, only that the first is more existential, and the second is more related to God. The human being has a spiritual dimension, different from the psychophysical one; the education seeks the integral formation of the same, reason why it must consider this dimension, without prohibiting the religious profession, in the frame of the democracy. Spirituality helps to have a positive attitude and inner peace in the face of illness and death, to find the meaning of life, to be free and responsible people, able to relate to the world and to others, to live in a climate of Happiness, where the main characteristic is love.
