Abstract

A 23-year-old woman has been presenting headache for two months that is accompanied by blurred vision, dysarthria and loss of consciousness. Cerebrospinal fluid confirms meningitis to Cryptococcus. In spite of the treatment with amphotericin B and fluconazole she presents a general deterioration. During her evolution she presented pulmonary paracoccidiomycosis and vaginal candidiasis. Despite specific therapy, the patient dies with the late confirmation of a common variable immunodeficiency.
