Hydatidosis is a parasitic zoonosis that affects human beings accidentally producing cysts in any anatomic location. During its slow growth, it remains asymptomatic and with time it will appear as a local tumor, pain or hypersensitivity reaction. We present the description of twelve cases with the following profile: 49-year-old woman, housewife, from urban areas, who presents an hepatic cyst and receives surgical and pharmacological combined treatment with resolution of the pathology. In average, 1.7 patients with hydatidosis consult at the Hospital de Clínicas per year.
