Schwannomas are degenerate tumors of the peripheral nerve sheath that very rarely present at the level of the psoas muscle. They generally reach large proportions before producing mass effect symptoms. We present a case and review the literature on this type of lesion and the ancient schwannoma, variety that our patient presented.
