YEGROS-ORTIZ, Carlos Darío; ACOSTA-LOPEZ, Karina; MONTIEL-ALFONSO, Miguel Angel  e  FERREIRA-BOGADO, Miguel. Videolaparoscopic management of choledocholithiasis in the general surgery department of Hospital Nacional - Itauguá. Cir. parag. [online]. 2021, vol.45, n.2, pp.25-28. Introduction:

Currently, there is no algorithm for the treatment of choledocholithiasis that can be considered the gold standard. The management of choledocholithiasis by video laparoscopy depends to a great extent on the experience of each surgical team and the technological availability of the hospitals.

Objective:

To present the management of choledocholithiasis by laparoscopic means in the general surgery department of the Hospital Nacional de Itauguá, period 2015-2018.

Materials and methods:

Retrospective, descriptive cross-sectional study with non-probabilistic sampling of consecutive cases. Twenty-seven clinical records of patients with choledocholithiasis, treated by videolaparoscopy, were evaluated. The main variables taken into account were age, sex, BMI, days of hospitalization, techniques performed and post-operative complications.

Results

The average age of the patients was 61 years, with the female sex being the most prevalent. The most commonly used technique for extracting the main biliary tract calculus was nontranscistic laparoscopic choledotomy. The main complications were residual calculus and biliary peritonitis.

Conclusion

70.37% of success was obtained with videolaparoscopic management. The exposed morbidity was 25.9%. Minor complications and a mortality of 0% were presented.
