Abstract
GARCIA, Luz et al. Ameboma as a cause of intestinal obstruction. Cir. parag. [online]. 2020, vol.44, n.3, pp.31-32. ISSN 2307-0420. https://doi.org/10.18004/sopaci.2020.diciembre.31.
Entamoeba histolytica infection occurs in most cases like dysentery or amoebic liver abscess, but there are cases where the evolution generates a true inflammatory mass in the colon called ameboma. These amebomas are easily mistaken for a neoplastic disease and, if you do not have a high level of suspicion, they end in a colon resection. We present the case of ameboma at the Rectosigmoid junction as a cause of intestinal occlusion.
Keywords : Ameboma; entamoeba histolytica; intestinal occlusion.
