Abstract

GONZALEZ, Arnaldo et al. Laparoscopic incisional hernia treatment with intraperitoneal biocompatible PTFE mesh in a public hospital. Cir. parag. [online]. 2019, vol.43, n.2, pp.24-26. ISSN 2307-0420.  https://doi.org/10.18004/sopaci.2019.agosto.24-26.

An incisional hernia (HI) can be defined as any defect of the abdominal wall, with or without volume increase, in the area of a postoperative scar, perceptible or palpable by clinical or imaging examination1. Laparoscopic intraperitoneal hernioplasty is a safe option for the treatment of incisional hernias of the abdominal wall, associated with a low recurrence rate that reaches 6.25% in the long term1. We present a case of laparoscopic hernioplasty with placement of intraperitoneal PTFE mesh, as a valid alternative for the repair of incisional hernias.
