The surgical procedure for the formation of a biliodigestive bypass is indicated in various biliary diseases, including choledocholithiasis unresolved by endoscopic retrograde cholangiography or by surgical biliary tract exploration, benign biliary strictures and even malignant neoplasms of the biliopancreatic junction.
