Both in the civil and military fields, vascular injuries of the lower extremities are frequent and potentially fatal.

The initial support measures to combat shock, a technically correct surgical attitude aimed at early repair of the vascularization of the limb and a strict and continuous postoperative control are the basic pillars of the treatment.

The autologous graft of the saphenous vein remains the reference.
