SEMIDEI-DALLES, Giselle et al. MORBIDITY AND MORTALITY AFTER CEPHALIC DUODENO PANCREATECTOMY: PERIOD OF JANUARY 2015 TO JUNE 2018 AT THE PREVISON SOCIAL INSTITUTE. Rev. Cir. Parag. [online]. 2018, vol.42, n.2, pp.23-24. ISSN 2307-0420.  https://doi.org/10.18004/sopaci.2018.agosto.23-24.

Pancreatic malignant tumors suffers from an unfortunate prognosis. It is accepted that surgical resection is the only treatment that achieves long-term survival; however, at the moment of their diagnosis, only among 10%-20% the patients are candidates for surgery. Without treatment the survival average is from 3 to 6 months. Just 15-20% will benefit from a resection with curative intent at the time of the diagnosis, less than 20% will survive one year, the 5-year overall survival is not more than 3% .
