Abstract

We evaluated the access, use and preferences of the technologies of information and communication technologies in medical residents of the different services of General Surgery in Paraguay, the questionnaire explored the availability and mastery of ICTS, the time, the educational activities, and technology applications you use most. 79 were surveyed Resident Doctors of General Surgery; 52% were male, average of 28 years, 40% formed in the A. El use ofnotebookwas 34%,20% use of tablet andsmartphone97%; 43% have mobile internet and connection in the home, the 98% use WhatsApp, as a means of exchange of images, data related to health, reports of patients and expert opinion. El 84% refer to be connected the 24 hs to the internet, the 62% use Smartphone to resolve medical questions on a daily basis, 43% rarely deepen such knowledge; 46% read a full scientific article per month, 31% always look surgical videos before operating a surgery; and the 94% considered that there is a positive relationship to the evolution of the learning with technology. The access and use of ICTS is common in medical residents of Surgery and there is positive interest for its use in education.
