Abstract

GONZALEZ, Arnaldo et al. LAPAROSCOPIC TREATMENT OF INCISIONAL HERNIA WITH PTFE BIOLOGICAL MESH. Rev. Cir. Parag. [online]. 2017, vol.41, n.1, pp.29-32. ISSN 2307-0420.  https://doi.org/10.18004/sopaci.abril.29-32.

An incisional hernia can be defined as any defect of the abdominal wall, with or without an increase in volume, in the area of a postoperative scar, perceptible or palpable by clinical or imaging examination. The laparoscopic intraperitoneal hernioplasty is a safe option for the treatment of incisional hernias of the abdominal wall, associated with a low recurrence rate that reaches 6.25% in the long term. In this time, a case of laparoscopic hernioplasty with placement of a intraperitoneal PTFE mesh is presented as a valid alternative for the repair of incisional hernias.
