SUMMARY Plasmacytomas are tumors caused by a neoplastic proliferation of plasma cells. Rib primary tumors are uncommon, with the exceptional rib solitary plasmacytomas. Surgical resection with wide margins and adequate monitoring are a valid treatment alternative present the case of a woman of 45 years with a solitary bone tumor of the fifth rib. Surgical Resection of the rib, and whose pathology report confirmed plasmacytoma. Favorable patient was discharged on the tenth postoperative day and subsequent monitoring by the hematology
