ABSTRACT The ingestion of foreign bodies is a common problem in childhood, but it can also present at other ages, 80-90% of them, can progress spontaneously and then expulsed. Only 1% requires surgical intervention for its extraction. A case is presented of a patient with a surgical acute abdomen, because of a perforation of the sigmoid colon, secondary to an involuntary ingestion of a chicken bone. It was realize laparotomy, extraction of the bone, sigmoidectomy and Iliac colostomy.
