Abstract

MUJICA ALONSO, Fátima Luz María et al. Analysis of the convergence of the productivity of soybean (Glycine max L.) in the eastern region of Paraguay (2007-2018). Investig. Agrar. [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.2, pp.93-98. ISSN 2305-0683.  https://doi.org/10.18004/investig.agrar.2023.diciembre.2502752.

The article delves into soybean productivity, pivotal in the national economy as the primary export commodity. Between 2007 and 2018, productivity in departments across the eastern region was assessed to identify convergence patterns. Spatial analyses and econometric models were employed to link initial productivity with its growth over time. Results indicate a significant influence among neighboring departments, suggesting potential absolute convergence in soybean productivity. Additionally, unconsidered factors impacting this process were identified, hinting at spatial dependence. These findings underscore the importance of comprehending productivity trends in the region for informed economic decision-making.
