Abstract

GOMES DE OLIVEIRA, Pedro Paulo; BARUA ACOSTA, Hugo Armando; DE SOUZA MARIA, Luciano  and  CAMILLO DE CARVALHO, Marco Antônio. Influence of season and number of landslides on initial development of Tectona grandis l. F. in silvopastoral system. Investig. Agrar. [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.1, pp.39-45. ISSN 2305-0683.  https://doi.org/10.18004/investig.agrar.2020.junio.39-45.

This study was developed to evaluate the number and timing of pruning and its influence on the development in height, diameter and the quality of the stem of a Teak settlement, in the silvipastoral system, located in the municipality of Alta Floresta, northern region of the State of Mato Grosso. The experimental design used was in randomized blocks, with four treatments (T1: pruning three times a year in August, November and February, T2: pruning only in February, T3: pruning only in August and T4: pruning only in November) and five repetitions with eight trees per plot totaling 160 trees. The pruning was applied at 12, 24 and 36 months of age. The DAP (1.30 m), total height, annual current increment in height and diameter and the quality of the stem were evaluated. The application of T2 treatment (pruning performed in February) provided positive effect on the initial development of Tectona grandis l. F. stands in the silvipastoral system in the Alta Floresta region, state of Mato Grosso.
