In this paper we discuss an international and multidisciplinary research collaboration in Paraguay, called Food, farming and rural life in a community in Piribebuy District. The project was collaboration between a Canadian anthropologist and three Paraguayan professors. In the process of designing and undertaking the project, we learned valuable lessons about working in a multidisciplinary and international team. In this paper, we reflect on the process of working together and the factors that made this possible, and the challenges we experienced.
