GUERREROS, Graciela Gisele  e  ARIAS RUIZ DIAZ, Osmar René. Selectivity of insecticides on eggs of Cycloneda sanguínea (L., 1763) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae). Investig. Agrar. [online]. 2012, vol.14, n.1, pp.11-16. ISSN 2305-0683.

The experiment was conducted in the laboratory of Entomology of the Department of Plant Protection of the Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias of the Universidad Nacional de Asunción, during the period April – September 2011. The objective was to determine the selectivity of three insecticides on Cycloneda sanguinea. The products were Cypermethrin 25%, Imidacloprid 75% and Triflumuron 48% in commercial dose and 50% and 10% reduced-dose. Eggs of C. sanguinea were obtained from breeding in the laboratory. They were transferred to petri dishes of 9 cm diameter where they received 2 ml of each concentration using the Potter tower for precise application, and maintained under controlled conditions of 25 ± 2 °C temperature, 70 ± 10% relative humidity and 14 hours fotofase. Mortality was evaluated every day from the moment of the application up to 10 days. Cypermethrin 25% in three doses and Imidacloprid 75% in commercial and reduced 50% dose caused 100% mortality while 75% to 10% Imidacloprid caused 45% of mortality, Triflumuron 48% presented 58.3 and 15% mortality at the recommended and reduced to 50% and 10% dosage respectively. The more selective insecticide for eggs of C. sanguinea was Triflumurom. Insects survivors did not present alterations in its biological aspect and its morphology in the first generation.

Palavras-chave : Cycloneda sanguinea; insecticide; selectivity.
