Two experiments were conducted to study the effect of native isolates of Trichoderma spp. in the incidence of Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) variety Escoba Blanca, the first was conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Pathology, and the second in the Experimental Field, both from the Department of Plant Protection, Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias, Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Campus of San Lorenzo. In the study 1, the fungus Trichoderma spp. was isolated from 20 soil samples from different areas of Paraguay where it has not been planted sesame, and placed in paired culture with Macrophomina phaseolina, with a Complete Randomized Blocks Design. It was determined that all isolated were antagonists of the pathogen, occurring 5 with a more aggressive development. In study 2, it was evaluated the effect of the 5 best isolated, inoculated with a concentration of 108 cfu/mL in sesame seeds, previously soaked in a suspension of Macrophomina phaseolina for 10 minutes and dried at room temperature for 2 hours. Afterwards they were planted in pots, with 6 treatments and 4 replications; each experimental unit was constituted of 12 pots with 5 seeds in a Complete Randomized Blocks Design. It was determined the incidence of the pathogen at 20 days after sowing, finding a decrease of 33.33% in the incidence of the disease compared with the control.
