MEDINA GIMENEZ, María Olga; FATECHA FOIS, Diego Augusto  e  ROLON PAREDES, Gustavo Adolfo. Effect of mineral, organic and organic-mineral fertilization in sugar cane production of second year. Investig. Agrar. [online]. 2011, vol.13, n.1, pp.49-52. ISSN 2305-0683.

The organic or organic-mineral fertilization may help to improve sugarcane production. In order to evaluate the mineral, organic and organic-mineral fertilization on sugarcane of second year and the residual effect of fertilization during the first year, an experiment was conducted in a sandy-textured soil on an Alfisol of the District of Escobar, Department of Paraguarí. The experimental design was randomized complete block with nine treatments and three replications. Each plot was 6 meters wide and 8 meters long, it was divided into sub-plots to assess the residual fertilization of the first year and the fertilization of the second year.  The treatments were: 20 t ha-1 chicken manure compost, 30 t ha-1 of cow manure compost, 30 t ha-1 coconut husk, 120-120-120 kg ha-1 of N, P2O5 and K2O,  60-60-60 kg ha-1 of N, P2O5 and K2O + 15 t ha-1 of cow manure compost,  60-60-60 kg ha-1 of N, P2O5 and K2O + 10 t ha-1 chicken manure compost, 60-60-60 kg ha-1 of N, P2O5 and K2O + 15 t ha-1 coconut husk. The application of organic fertilizers and mineral-organic fertilizers increased the yield of sugarcane, with significant differences in the control. There was not significant residual effect of fertilization during the first year.
