Abstract: This article aims to analyze the implications of big data in the field of mergers and acquisitions and competition law, from a critical and comparative standpoint. First, it does a brief introduction to the subject, based on consultation of texts that manage to situate the development of the current legal paradigm. It also studies the theoretical performance of antitrust policy in the midst of the digital age. Subsequently, it conducts a comparative analysis of emblematic cases of mergers and acquisitions from the perspective of three different antitrust authorities (Brazilian, American, and European), essential for situating the legal landscape in an international scope. As a result, it concludes that the jurisprudence is currently moving towards the implementation of a cooperative role between the two legal institutes within their respective authorities.
