Abstract: The article will deal with the main legal aspects of the Mercosur-European Union agreement. First of all, we will mention that the Mercosur-European Union agreement has a novel dispute resolution system. It projects situations that will have to be carried out in practice that may have to be reviewed at the time of the final text. It says nothing about the access of individuals to the dispute settlement process, as well as investments in particular. Regarding the ratification process, there are essential differences between European countries on environmental issues, particularly with Brazil. The closing of the European Union Mercosur Agreement has three types of obstacles related to its components of cooperation, political dialogue and free trade. Democracy is a requirement that the parties have proposed, although the mechanisms to be implemented in case of rupture by a State party are not established.
