Rev. secr. Trib. perm. revis. [online]. 2019, vol.7, n.14, pp.198-221. ISSN 2304-7887.  https://doi.org/10.16890/rstpr.a7.n14.p198.

The Hague Conference on Private International Law has signed the Final Act of a new international convention designed to circumvent usual obstacles to international circulation of judgments. The 2019 Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments aims at mitigating uncertainties and risks associated with the international commerce and other civil relationships by setting forth a simple and secure system according to which foreign judgments may circulate from country to country. The purpose of this article is to preserve the historical moment of the negotiations that took place at The Hague Conference, as well as to pinpoint the main issues regulated in the convention, that are of general interest to the subject of international litigation in a global perspective.

Palabras clave : Hague Conference; Judgments Project; Convention on recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments; Recognition; Jurisdiction; Foreign judgments.
