This paper seeks to analyze the role played by the FOCEM as an instrument to reduce structural asymmetries within the framework of the MERCOSUR integration process (2005-2015). For this reason, the treatment of inequalities was developed according to indicators such as area, population, Gross Domestic Product and per capita.
