Abstract

The purpose of this work is to determine if the resources and attractions of the town of San Carlos del Apa in Paraguay have the potential to satisfy the basic needs of the visitor and through what experiences. For which an investigation with a quantitative, transversal and descriptive approach was used. Twenty-one resources were analyzed using the observation technique, whose instrument was a file with 4 dimensions and 28 items: Basic Services (8), Complementary Services (6), Basic Needs (5) and Offered Experiences (9), in July 2022. The main results show that 19% of the resources are in optimal conditions for tourism based on their basic and complementary services, likewise, through these resources five basic needs can be satisfied: enjoy, relax, discover, meet and tradition religious, being the ones with the highest compliance in resources (90%) to discover and enjoy. As for the experiences offered, they are varied, but those related to Natural Areas (57%) and Sports Practices (52%) stand out. Finally concluding that the town has some potential resources and attractions to satisfy the needs of visitors, however, most of the resources still require intervention and planning for their best use.
