Abstract

HIDALGO-EURIBE, Juana Patricia; VELAZCO-RIOS, Armando Edison  and  VELAZCO-HIDALGO, Cristian. Scientific production in social work: a content analysis using strategic map. Rev. Int. Investig. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2022, vol.18, n.2, pp.299-312. ISSN 2226-4000.  https://doi.org/10.18004/riics.2022.diciembre.299.

The main objective of this study is to analyze the topics of interest on which the scientific production of the discipline of Social Work is concentrated in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) database, which corresponds to the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS) in the social work category. The research is of a quantitative-descriptive and bibliometric nature, based on the use of Science Maps and the method of co-occurrence of keywords, having as unit of analysis the scientific research articles published in the period 2011-2021. We worked on the basis of quantitative indicators of productivity (number of publications) and bibliometric quality (total number of citations, h or Hirsch index). The Science Mapping Analysis Tool (SciMAT) software was used to obtain the Strategic Diagram for that period, which presents the classification of 23 topics and which, according to the range of centrality and density, are concentrated in: (I) driving or relevant topics, (II) basic or transversal, (III) emerging or declining, and (IV) peripheral or isolated. It is estimated that together they correspond to the most relevant topics of scientific production in the area of Social Work.

Keywords : Social work, bibliometrics, keyword co-occurrence analysis, scientific production; Science Mapping Analysis Tool (SciMAT).
