Abstract

This document is part of the products generated from the project to create the Technology Transfer Office at the Autonomous University of Asunción (UAA). Financed by the National Council of Science and Technology of Paraguay. Taking into account that the research and development market is part of the elements for improving the quality of life in many sectors. The general objective of this study was: Collect the information corresponding to the context of innovation and current development in Paraguay, for the development of the OTRI (Innova-Lab-UAA), in the period from 2020 to 2021. The methodology of the study was: cross-sectional descriptive with analytical components, with a mixed approach. Among the main results we find the collection of data from 38 (thirty-eight) companies. The profile of the companies surveyed was: 94.7% were private companies, and 84% without foreign participation in the capital of the company and commercial operations at the national level by 86.8%. With a turnover level of less than 1,000 million guaraníes by 64%. As for their felt needs of the market in its Business Innovation component, we find that 76.32% have not participated in government support or incentives for innovation. 81.0% would be interested in participating in strengthening programs. While only 13.16% have an innovation area and only 10.53% have funds for innovation. There are conditions in the productive environment (companies) to generate links with the environment (university - company), through the installation of an interface structure such as the Technology Transfer and Research Results Offices (OTRI).
