Resumen

CABALLERO-MERLO, Javier Numan. Orekuete editorial from within the local academic community. Rev. Int. Investig. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.2, pp.318-338. ISSN 2226-4000.  https://doi.org/10.18004/riics.2019.diciembre.318-338.

The objective of this article deals with the practice of academic-editorial orekuete study among institutional researchers of scientific areas through their (in) visibility editorial. The method has been the qualitative, the type of research descriptive-explanatory, and the design non-experimental. Taking into consideration publications in the area of social sciences of the universities, CAI (independent academic centers) and the ones that provides to those at the same time with other disciplinary areas, in other media or societies, identifying traces and evidences of the mentioned exclusive practice.

The results show as normal-legitimate (established practice of knowledge-power) the non-recognition of the other pair (institutional-individual) in magazines of the area as a discretionary strategy based on their control or ownership (universities and centers). Not only self-reference is given, but it is excluded, without mentioning, the studies in the same line of research and / or topics of the other pairs of the other centers. Also, by other means of dissemination and scientific societies that consider various disciplinary areas, praising more editorial space to the formal and natural sciences from which they come in relation to the space granted to the social as aspirants or protoscience.

As main conclusions it is considered that the orekuete within the area of institutions that produce sociology (institutional peers) helps to reproduce the weakness of the development of this discipline, its isolation or little regional and international presence, its topic fragmentation, the pulverization in centers, and, consequently, deductively arranging the limitation of both the quality and scope of the local theoretical production. On the other hand, it is pointed out the attempt to perpetuate a non-critical academic supremacy and privileges (symbolic and non-symbolic), by the members of the natural and formal sciences of the local scientific community that from a positivist conservative position express a dispute in this case of knowledge-power among disciplines of different areas in the media that they control, through the self-granting of larger editorial spaces.
