Abstract

VALDEZ-AYALA, Sintya Carolina. Little Peasant Schools of the Christian Agrarian Leagues. Social awareness and self-education. Rev. Int. Investig. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.2, pp.240-262. ISSN 2226-4000.  https://doi.org/10.18004/riics.2019.diciembre.240-262.

This article aims to characterize the process of development of the Peasant Schools of the Christian Agrarian Leagues, from the memory of the protagonists, through the orality of those who were involved in its constitution and expansion. For the reconstruction of this experience of rural self-education, were interviewed a member of the Christian Agrarian Youth, a regional leader of the Christian Agrarian Leagues, another National leader of the Christian Agrarian Leagues and a political trainer and ideologist of the Peasant Schools. Among the findings it can be mentioned that the educational program of the Christian Agrarian Leagues was oriented to adults initially and then to adults and children. The process was started by training the Pytyvõhára or animators, since the work with the teachers of the official education had all the biases of the traditional school, that is to say, they were already very conditioned, so that in the first phase literacy was approached of adults and the training of educators. In the Escuelas Campesinas the role of the students was active and the educators were collaborators, it was a significant teaching - learning process that developed the critical thinking in the students.
