This article analyzes the use of scientific information in the digital media in Paraguay, taking as a study reference online outlets: ABC Color and Última Hora, in which virtual platforms enables sections to publish science and technology. The study also identifies the current situation of scientific journalism and its future prospects through a daily gilimpse of news and updates of contents that it offers to public opinion. As a result, it was found that 94% of the scientific information are provided by the agencies and international news portals and only 6% of all checked items correspond to the elaborations own of the media journalists studied. This study also shows that there's a large amount of public investment in the promotion and development of science and technology and it works mainly promoting culture and scientific literacy of citizens but displays a low participation of media in the dissemination of science in Paraguay. In addition, this work presents a detailed the current status of scientific journalism in the digital outlets of reference.
