Abstract

This article demonstrates in a descriptive and comparative way the amount of news involving women's issues in the headlines published in three newspapers in Paraguay. The publications monitored belong to 30 days of September 2014, of the newspaper: La Nacion, ABC Color and UltimaHora.The most prominent result shows that the most influential media, especially the daily ABC Color witch has the highest circulation, does not make visible to the women, in any of the facets that may be developed in the country.Considering that the media constructs the news with a process that includes, excludes and ranks actions for their informative agenda and in the case of Paraguay, the rest of the media assume as a thematic guide on the results obtained agendas recognizes that the subject woman is relegated to the private sphere and only when events has exceptional characteristics, have a place in the press.The results are part of the investigative work, degree of the author, unpublished, but without precedents in the country, to access a degree in journalism at the Autonomous University of Asuncion, presented in February 2015.
