This article analyzes, how the human factor, leadership and particular organizational cultures, influence in the management and implementation of organizational change. Based on the idea that all change is generated to improve a process or situation, it is understood that these changes will impact to a greater or lesser extent all of the organization; and provided that these changes satisfy the needs of the organization’s members they may be implemented in a positive way. The leader is responsible for fostering the conditions for implementing change and reduce resistance, as each person perceives the change in a different way, which determines their action or reaction in relation to change. An essential component for the survival of organizations is innovation, for which human resources are essential to strengthen and encourage specific behaviors and attitudes in relation to innovation. In conclusion, in order to survive over time, organizations must learn to adapt to the changing environment so as to maintain their competitiveness.
