Abstract

CHEN, Yin-zu. Latin American identity of young activists in international political spaces. Rev. Int. Investig. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2014, vol.10, n.1, pp.21-34. ISSN 2226-4000.

This paper analyzes the construction of Latin American identity within spaces provided by international institutions. The qualitative analysis of young participants' discourses shows that the construction of Latin American identity is based on discursive connection between different geopolitical levels: local-national, regional and international, which reflects the organizational frame of international politics. The national states have a decisive role in the organizational structure of international spaces and also for the construction of identity of young activists in these spaces

Keywords : Identity; Latin America; national state; young activists.
