Abstract

MELERO AGUILAR, Noelia  and  SOLIS ESPARRALLAGAS, Carmen. Gender and environment. The challenge of an education toward a human perspective of sustainable developmen. Rev. Int. Investig. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2012, vol.8, n.2, pp.235-250. ISSN 2226-4000.

Abstract:We are in a global crisis of civilizations, a crisis of an economic, social development, science and technology models, but specially a crisis of education and values. This crisis is the result of the development models that have prevailed during decades, which have created in a disproportionate way, the alteration of natural processes, causing environmental degradation and an unfair redistribution of resources, inequalities and social injustices, affecting on the population and generating the poverty of human beings and especially of the women, preventing them from a fair and equitable development. Based on these assumptions, this article raised the need for new forms of joint responsibility in the recognition and visualizes the woman knowledge and ways, as a requirement to incorporate sustainable human development. Therefore, we believe that education becomes the key instrument to create spaces for dialogue and communication on equality and to promote the personal development and the human capacity, promoting this way a truly sustainable reequilibrium.
