Abstract: This study focus on analyzing the way in which expenses of resources dedicated to innovation are distributed. After a short introduction where the subject and the methodology are exposed, we analyze distribution of expenses from several points of view: from the point of view of the area, of the size and origin of the capitals, activity sector. The conclusion is drawn that, as in the rest of Latinamerica, the areas that concentrate most of investment are those related to capital assets, specially software and hardware. However, it is worth noting that the incorporation of exogenous technology does not necessarily goes along with an equivalent level of training and creation of inner knowledge that leads to adaptation and improving of incorporated technology.
