SCIABARRASI, A et al. Gastrointestinal parasites found in Psittacids of the genera Amazona sp, Ara sp, Aratinga so Forpus sp and macaw hybrids of the La Esmeralda Biological Station, Santa Fe, Argentina. Compend. cienc. vet [online]. 2020, vol.10, n.1, pp.26-32. ISSN 2226-1761.  https://doi.org/10.18004/compend.cienc.vet.2020.10.01.26.

The presence of gastrointestinal parasites is reported in psittacines rescued from illegal trafficking and housed in the Biological Station La Esmeralda de Santa Fe, Argentina, in 2019. Species of the genera Amazona sp., Ara sp., Aratinga sp., Forpus sp. were sampled, as well as macaw hybrids, by combined flotation and sedimentation techniques. Found: eggs of Capillaria sp., Trichostrongylus sp., Ascaridia sp., Strongyloides sp., Raelletina sp., and oocysts of Eimeria sp. and Isospora sp. The parasitological analysis in these species constitutes an important tool for the evaluation of the sanitary conditions of the environment.
