Wetlands are high biodiversity ecosystems. The wetlands of Benjamin Aceval City harbor a high number bird species. However there are few studies about the ornithofauna that inhabits the peri-urban wetlands. To investigate the bird community composition and richness, a total of 37 observations were made at 13 different points between the year 2016 and 2018. A total of 272 species of birds were identified, belonging to 55 families, with the order of Passeriformes being most abundant. The results can contribute as a basis for designing conservation strategies in the area, which is still undergoing urban modifications in the study area.
