Resumen

CONTRERAS, JL et al. ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCE ON THE NUTRITIONAL VALUE OF ALFALFA (Medicago sativa L.) IN PERUVIAN ANDES. Compend. cienc. vet [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.1, pp.7-14. ISSN 2226-1761.  https://doi.org/10.18004/compend.cienc.vet.2019.09.01.07-14.

A study was carried out in the Huancavelica Region, Peruvian high Andean area, aimimg of evaluate the effect of thirteen districts, and dry and rainfall seasons on the nutritional value of alfalfa (Medicago sativa) forage through dry matter consumption (DMC) and digestibility (DMD), estimates of energy fractions (total digestible nutrients and digestible energy) and forage value index of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), mineral matter (MM) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF). For DM, EE, MM and NDF, differences were observed (p <0.05) between districts and times of the year. For CP, there were differences (p <0.05) between rainy and dry season, without variation (p> 0.05) between districts. DMC and DMD had influence (p>0.05) of the districts and climate seasons. Energy values were significantly altered (p<0.05) by districts and seasons. In Acoria, Huando, Laria and Acostambo, energy values of approximately 3.10 Mcal / kg DM were observed, classifying the alfalfa of these districts as good quality forage. The high nutritional value of alfalfa can be affirmed, as a perennial forage species in this region, due to its high protein content, good digestibility and consumption.
