Abstract

ABSTRACT. The present study was conducted to determine Fasciola hepatica´s natural infection in Lymnaea spp. during 3 seasons (fall, winter and summer), at Yabebyry district, Misiones Department. Samples consisted on 253 mollusks from Lymnaea spp. genus, collected in the study areas and identified by morphological characteristics method and artificial light exposure to obtain cercariae. Were observed: only one specie of mollusk (Lymnaea columella) and cercariae and metacercariae presence of in 76 specimens (30 %). From 5 mollusks processed in the summer, all were negative; in the fall, from 70 mollusks, 13 were positives and in the winter from 178 mollusks, 63 were positive. The study revealed that the winter season was the most propitious for mollusk´s procreation.
