ABSTRACT In order to compare the weight gain in discard cows supplemented with coconut pulp expeller (Acrocomia totai Mart) on cultivated pasture (Brachiaria brizantha) for 90 days, were conformed two groups of 20 (twenty) zebu breed cows, with 308 kg average weight. This research was done at a farm located in Maciel District, Caazapa´ Department of the Paraguay Republic at 240 km from Asuncio´n. The results were: Control Group, cows grazed on cultivated pasture (Brachiaria brizantha), registered a weight gain average of 42.05 kg / animal, and Treatment Group, grazed on cultivated pasture with 1.5 kg coconut pulp expeller supplementation, obtained 60.6 kg / animal average weight gain. Analyzed data by ANOVA gave statistically significant difference between both groups with a 95% confidence level.
