Abstract

This research aims to verify the variations in solar radiation in the range of ultraviolet radiation (UV) and photosynthesis active (PAR) on Yacyretá Reservoir, determining the attenuation coefficient and the depth of the photic zone, relating to the quality of water in variable organic chemistry. The radiation was measured in the water column coincident with the sampling for chemical determinations. The UV-B radiation exponential attenuation introduced with poor penetration into the water column. Very good correlation was found of the PAR radiation with depth, as was observed attenuation exponential curve. No significant difference occurred ANOVA for organic matter to 3 m deep, but significant differences occurred by or sampling campaign. The attenuation coefficient of variation introduced in accordance with the organic matter by oxidation with permanganate measured.
